A team of scientists has succeeded in creating a hypersonic jet engine that can reach speeds of up to 19,756 km / h.
If you had ever imagined being able to reach any part of the world in just a few minutes, in China they have already managed to create a hypersonic jet engine that could be used in future passenger aircraft to reach any part of the planet in less than two hours.
And it is that a group of Chinese scientists has built a hypersonic jet engine called Sodramjet that is capable of reaching speeds of approximately 19,756 km / h, with which we could reach any part of the world in less than two hours.
At the moment there is plenty of time to see it in a possible plane, and right now a prototype is being tested in wind tunnels that has managed to reach up to nine times the speed of sound, achieving a unique performance in fuel efficiency, operational stability and in terms of fuel efficiency. push.
Scientists from the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences claim that this engine could be included in reusable transatmospheric aircraft that would take off horizontally from an airport runway, accelerate to orbit around the Earth, then re-enter the atmosphere and they would eventually land at a destination airport.
The information, advanced by the South China Morning Post, states that the engine consists of three main components without any moving parts, including an air intake, a hydrogen injector and a combustion chamber.
In theory the engine would be able to accelerate an aircraft up to 16 times the speed of sound but this has not been achieved in wind tunnel tests. They consider that current hypersonic engines are too weak, expensive and unstable, but their technology would be capable of reaching commercial flights by stuffing them into supersonic speeds.
This is a very interesting possible invention that could make endless plane trips only a matter of minutes, although it seems that it will not be something we see in this century.
