Elon Musk says SpaceX, his aerospace manufacturing company, will land a spacecraft on Mars in 2022, while humans will do the same in the next 4-6 years.
There is no doubt that Elon Musk already has his sights set on Mars with SpaceX, working day and night to fulfill his dream: Establish a colony on the red planet. In fact, you are already thinking about interplanetary laws, since you recently assured that “Mars will not be governed by any terrestrial government.”
Now, Musk made some comments during the Axel Springer Award 202 event, where he spoke about SpaceX’s ambitious mission. He said that the journey from Earth to Mars has to wait for a specific moment when the planet’s orbit lines up with our own, which happens roughly every two years.
Not only that, but he also said that he wants to be aboard one of Starship’s ships himself, something he will do in the next 2-3 years. Musk said: “I would say that within the next six years, I am very confident that humans will travel to Mars. If we are lucky, maybe four years, although we will try to send an unmanned ship there in two years. ”
“What worries me the most is developing technology that can allow many people to go to Mars. and make life multi-planetary, have a base on the moon, a city on Mars, and I think it’s important that we strive to have a self-sustaining city on Mars as soon as possible ”.
