Xiaomi has announced the development of a charger and wireless charging technology of no less than 80W of power, and this translates, according to the company’s tests, into charging a 4000 mAh battery from 0 to 50% in 8 minutes and from 0 to 100% in 19 minutes.
Until now, the company’s fastest wireless fast charging technology was 55W and it was introduced with the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, where its 4500 mAh battery could be charged from 0 to 100% in 40 minutes.
Xiaomi indicated that for this wireless fast charging system it has designed a ” more efficient wireless charging architecture ” with a dedicated chip and an independent coil system to provide these 80W of power. He also indicated that there are MTW multipolar connectors, that the smartphone used used a dual battery configuration, and that some accelerations were used at the software level. Even after the industry standard of 800 full charges, the battery can still provide 90% of its original capacity .
The phone used for the test is a prototype that looks like the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra with curved edges on the screen and with a selfie camera built into a hole. Unfortunately, it is not stated when we will see the first device to integrate this technology.
