It has long been known that Samsung and AMD have been working on a custom GPU will be integrated into Samsung’s Exynos processors for mobile devices.
Nothing has been officially revealed yet, but the wait may come to an end soon.
A new rumor has emerged suggesting that AMD’s custom GPU for Samsung could be introduced in the near future.
Well-known leak source @UniverseIce claims that Samsung plans to introduce the custom GPU jointly developed with AMD in June.
At the moment, the company will only reveal the technical details and specifications of the GPU, but chips that use the custom GPU will arrive later.
An earlier report from the same source stated that new Exynos chipsets with integrated AMD GPUs will hit the market in the second or third quarter of this year. Samsung has already said that its “next flagship product” will feature this GPU.
What is not known at the moment is if Samsung plans to present this new chipset with the Galaxy Note21 or with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Some believe that we will have to wait until the Galaxy S22, which will not arrive until next year.
If Samsung unveils the technical details of its custom GPU in June, we can at least understand how it’s going to take on its competitors.
