Biostar was the first card manufacturer to officially endorse the 11th Gen Intel Core CPU series on existing 400 series motherboards.

According to the marketing poster posted on social media, Biostar Racing Z490 motherboards now officially support the 11th Generation Core series. Intel’s upcoming processor series is expected to be released in the first quarter of next year. 11th Gen processors, codenamed Rocket Lake-S, will support the same LGA1200 socket as the 10th Gen Core “Comet Lake-S”. Some of the 400-series motherboards released earlier this year were announced with ‘PCIe Gen4’ hardware support at launch, but there were no Intel CPUs that could take advantage of the new interface standard at the time.

It is said that Intel’s 11th Generation Core will be announced at CES 2021 in January. The company is expected to announce the launch of 500 series motherboards such as the Z590, H570 and B560 shortly after the announcement. However, the processors are not expected to be available for sale until February or March.

VideoCardz shared a roadmap yesterday outlining Intel’s plans to begin mass production of Rocket Lake-S processors in late January . The processors were originally scheduled to be ‘ready for shipment’ before 11 March.
