The veto of Huawei by the United States prevents the Chinese manufacturer from producing its own Kirin processors, as was the case until now. This forces them to look for alternatives and buy processors from other companies. Qualcomm could be one of them since they have obtained a license that gives them this possibility.
Although being a provider will have a limitation since they will only be able to sell 4G processors to the Chinese manufacturer, which does not have permission to use 5G technology from the United States.
Processor sales
Since it became known that Huawei was not going to be able to produce its own processors , rumors began about which companies would be the ones that would supply the Chinese brand of processors. MediaTek requested to have a license for it, which they have already obtained. Qualcomm also did it and at the end of last week several media in China already confirmed that this license was official.
Now it seems that it is finally like that so that the American processor manufacturer will be able to supply 4G processors for the Chinese brand. They become one of the last to be licensed, so we could see Huawei using processors from various manufacturers.
It is not known when we will see the first Huawei phone using a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It may become official in its high-end next year, so we will have to wait for more to be known about this use of processors in the Chinese brand phones.
