Asus has announced a new line of ROG Strix and TUF Gaming AMD® Radeon 6900 XT Series graphics cards, based on the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT and the innovative AMD RDNA ™ 2 gaming architecture that herald a new era of Radeon graphics power. To get the most out of this exciting new GPU, ASUS engineers have worked hard to develop ROG Strix and TUF Gaming graphics cards, which deliver the high performance, low temperatures, and quiet operation enthusiasts have come to expect.
The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT is the fastest gaming graphics card AMD has ever built. When ASUS engineers started outlining the ROG Strix card, the raw power of the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card inspired the design of a cooling system that could unleash its full potential. During this process, the ASUS team naturally turned to liquid cooling.
PC enthusiasts are already familiar with the benefits of all-in-one liquid cooling systems for their CPUs. Many of them have added similar systems to their graphics cards using aftermarket kits to pursue the outer limits of graphics performance. The ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card fuses the power of air and case cooling liquid. It is designed from the ground up with a custom liquid cooling module that is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the graphics card.

A large cold plate cools both the GPU die and the GDDR6 memory modules that surround the GPU. The heat from those components is transferred directly to the liquid cooling circuit rather than to the internal environment of the case. A 240mm radiator strikes the right balance between high cooling potential. Wide compatibility with mounting points available in today’s PC cases. A low-noise fan and low-profile heat sink inside the graphics card cover ensures that the power supply circuit stays cool.
Regardless of how it’s mounted on a PC, the ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card integrates seamlessly with the build. The card is equipped with especially long 600mm coolant hoses to allow more mounting options in a case, even in EATX cases with cavernous interiors. The hoses are lined with a textile tape to protect them against abrasion and to add an extra touch of class to the system.
To draw heat out of the circuit, a pair of custom designed 120mm radiator fans optimized for both high CFM and static pressure. These keep the air moving through the tightly packed fins of the heat exchanger. As with other ROG Strix cards, the ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card headers built into FanConnect II can connect to a pair of system fans. These headers allow the attached case fans to respond directly to changes in GPU or CPU temperature. Increasing airflow just when it’s needed.

TUF Gaming combines rugged and stealthy designs with the Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card For gamers who want rugged and stealthy graphics cards, ASUS also created a TUF Gaming version of the Radeon RX 6900 XT. The card’s cooling design begins with a 2.9-slot heatsink built to have a large thermal headroom. Quiet operation under the demands of today’s higher powered GPUs.
Air is blown through that high surface heat sink using three axial technology fans. Similar to the ROG Strix cooler, the center fan rotates clockwise while both of the flanks rotate counter-clockwise to reduce turbulence. This proven design allows for higher revs and more air movement through the heat sink without a corresponding increase in acoustic footprint.
The aluminum back plate adds a touch of style to a system with subtle TUF Gaming graphics. A large vent cutout in front of the custom PCB provides another path for hot air to enter the cabinet airflow path. Auto-Extreme assembly technology precisely positions and welds components without human intervention to increase construction reliability. A 144-hour test regime and extra robust capacitors ensure reliability and long life. Users can also customize the card to match the rest of the system using the onboard Aura RGB LEDs.
