The Apple M1 never ceases to amaze us, and this comparison will be useful for professionals using the Adobe suite. Beat an i7-6700K accompanied by a GTX 1060.
It is true that Apple does not adhere beyond the users of its community, but the company has launched a product that is giving much to talk about for its performance. The Apple M1 is a SoC that seemed to be focused on low ranges, but it is proving to have a really good performance, will the secret be in its 5nm?
Do you use the Adobe suite? Apple convinces you with its M1
Doing a quick review, the Apple M1 is an SoC that will be equipped in the Macbook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. It has 8 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores (which will be 7 in the lower range). In addition, it incorporates 16 “Neural Engine” cores for Machine Learning tasks. Say that its manufacturing process is 5nm and that it is a chip manufactured by TSMC.
Its great performance and efficiency are news, but this time the Apple M1 is portrayed for its performance in the Adobe Suite. To say that it has been compared to two Ryzen 5000 equipped with the best of the house, but what is remarkable is not that.
Adobe photoshop

First, we started with Adobe Photoshop, a program in which the MacBook Pro M1 gets 659 points and the “ Air ” model 654 .
If we look for a PC with a similar score, we find an i7-6700K with a GTX 1060, which gets 649 points (below the “Pro” and the “Air”). Somewhat better behaves the 8th generation of Intel, whose i5-8600 scores 716 points.
Adobe After Effects

The second test is Adobe After Effects, a demanding software with the capabilities of the PC. The M1 of the MacBook Pro scores 708 points, and the MacBook Air 586 points, quite different from each other.
Once again, the database is used to collate similar scores and we came across an i5-6600K with a Radeon R9 390 that scores 671 points. On the other hand, we see a Ryzen 7 1700 with a GTX 1060 that is made with 730 points, little more than the MacBook Pro.
Adobe Premiere Pro

The comparisons end with Adobe Premiere Pro, another program that demands certain features on our hardware. MacBooks are weak in this case, scoring 359 points (MacBook Pro) and 341 points (MacBook Air).
Not far behind is the i7-7700K equipped with a GTX 1070 , which takes 391 points . In contrast, the Ryzen 1700 with a simple GTX 1050 Ti scores 531 points.
Apple makes it clear that its M1 is ready for the use of professional programs, such as the Adobe suite . However, it should not be forgotten that all the exposed chips are desktop , so they are prepared to give the maximum performance without placing emphasis on consumption.
If we compare the Apple M1 with other laptop CPUs, things would change, and quite a bit. One of the things that strike us the most is that this SoC gives a great performance, but, after giving it, it does not exceed 10% of battery use.
