We can already know the first specifications of an AMD Ryzen 5000 CPU for laptops, we are talking about the AMD Ryzen 5 5600U, which will maintain the same configuration of 6 cores and 12 processing threads as its predecessor, but under the Zen3 microarchitecture, together with an Increased Base / Turbo frequencies of 200 MHz, which gives us a frequency of 2.30 / 4.20 GHz.
The graphics improve a bit, but they are still an AMD Radeon Vega 7 with 448 Stream Processors @ 1.80 GHz and a configurable TDP of 10 to 25W. It should be remembered that along with this CPU will come to another new CPU, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800U, with 8 cores and 16 processing threads, and a similar increase in frequencies is expected, so we could talk about 2.00 / 4.40 GHz.
What does not look good at all are the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U and Ryzen 5 5500U, which in essence would be Ryzen 7 4700U and Ryzen 5 4500U uploaded by laps, and this translates into having two Ryzen 5000 portable CPUs with the Zen2 microarchitecture, something that it doesn’t make sense and that it will only make less knowledgeable users feel cheated. We will have to wait to know the rest of the information since these processors could be launched early next year.
