AMD quietly released a new generation of graphics workstation professional graphics card-Radeon Pro VII, aimed at professional high-end users such as 3D design, engineering design, and HPC.
The card uses the dark blue spoiler hood used by professional cards and is equipped with a single fan turbofan. The specific materials and heat dissipation performance of the heat dissipation module is not disclosed. The specific power supply details are not disclosed. A single 8 + 6Pin external auxiliary power supply is used. The entire card is 250W TDP, thanks to strong architecture and advanced 7nm process.
Radeon Pro VII is based on the 7nm process Vega 20 core, which integrates 13.2 billion transistors and has a core area of 331 square millimeters. It has 240 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and 60 computing units. It contains a total of 3840 stream processors. The details of the frequency are not disclosed. In addition, it integrates 16GB 4096bit HBM2 memory, frequency 1GHz, total bandwidth up to 1TB / s, and supports ECC error checking.
Surprisingly, this time Radeon Pro VII also supports Infinity Fabric Link interconnect bus technology, players who need more performance can use two Radeon Pro VII graphics cards, with greater video memory, higher bandwidth, and lower latency performance, total video memory The amount can reach 32GB and the bandwidth is up to 168GB / s, which is equivalent to 5.25 times of PCIe 3.0 x16 and twice the limit of 64GB / s of PCIe 4.0 x16. Unfortunately, in dual-card mode, the main frequency will be slightly lower at 1333MHz.
The performance is very powerful, single-precision floating-point is 13.1TFlops, double-precision floating-point is 6.5TFlops, which is almost double the 3.36 TFLOPs of game-grade Radeon VII.
It is worth mentioning that it actually supports PCI-Express 4.0 channels, with the new platform and AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors, it can play a more powerful performance. At the same time, the video memory also has ECC error correction technology. Finally, the card also supports 6-channel 8K display output, a large number of mini DP 1.4 interfaces are provided at the end, and the multi-channel expansion professional-grade platform is very practical.
The card will be officially released in June at a price of $ 1,899, which is about 20% cheaper than competing NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000. Officials say that the throughput exceeds Quadro GV100 in dual-card mode (price 8999 USD), so the price/performance ratio of Radeon Pro VII is very high.
