Yakuza is a series that started out low but soon became popular with a loyal legion of fans. The years passed and little by little this proposal that emerged in SEGA became popular and in recent years its upward path did not find a brake to the extent that Microsoft struggled to have the main deliveries on Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass. Today, Yakuza lives its best moment and perhaps this could be the pretext for a location of 2 jewels that remain in Japan.
YAKUZA JEWELS STILL TO BE RELEASED IN THE WEST
During an interview with JPGames, Yakuza producer Daisuke Sato spoke about the success of the franchise in the West and the possibilities that this serves to justify the launch of spin-offs, in particular Ryū ga Gotoku. Ishin! ( Yakuza Ishin ) and Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan! ( Yakuza Kenzan ). According to the creative, his wish is that both titles finally see the light outside of Japan, although there are some details to take into account: “personally, I would like these titles to be localized and enjoyed by our western fans. We prioritized recovering our ground with the series thanks to Yakuza 0, so time flew by without an ideal time to launch these games. In my opinion, the action is one of the best in the series, so I’d like to track them down if we get the chance. However, the games are also several years old, so we may need to do additional work to remake them rather than offering a simple port, which makes the decision a bit more complicated. ”
Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan! is a game that debuted on PlayStation 3 in 2008 and takes place in Kyoto in 1605, with a proposal appropriate to the time and maintaining the structure of main and secondary missions. For his part, Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! debuted in 2014 for PS3 and PS4 taking place between 1853 and 1867. Both games were only released in Japan.
