The heart rate reveals which is the film with the worst scares in history.
The upcoming Halloween and Day of the Dead, and not unlikely that millions of people around the world, sit in front of their platforms streaming favorite films seeking to put the ideal environment for these dates. Well, with this in mind, the analysis platform for cable television services, mobile phone plans, and the internet, BroadbandChoices.co.uk – we know, it is not exactly Harvard – decided to conduct a study to determine which film is scariest of all time and thus save you minutes of futile search or hours wasted with mildly scary movies.
The methodology consisted of bringing together 50 people of different ages and putting them to consume more than 120 hours of horror films, based on a selection of 50 of the best films in the category. Meanwhile, the participants wore a heart rate monitor and the idea was to diagnose the scariest movies from the beats per minute.
The average beats per minute, at rest, was 65 beats, but with Sinister , viewers experienced an average pulse of 86 beats per minute with a tremendous peak of 131 beats per minute.
Insidious, better known in Latin America as La Noche del Demonio , came in second place with an average of 85 beats per minute, although that film caused a scare of those, with a peak of 133 beats per minute that was the highest recorded in the study. The top 10 was as follows:
- The spell
- The Devil’s Legacy
- Paranormal activity
- It is behind you
- The spell 2
- The Babadook
- The descent
- The guests
Sinister is a 2012 film , starring Ethan Hawk, which tells the story of a writer who moves, together with his family, to the house of a murdered family -typical-, with the idea of being inspired for his next book and of from then on, things start to get a little macabre. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video .
From the side of video games, this is a time plagued by events of Halloween, and everyone from Call of Duty Warzone to Rocket League and Apex Legends already announced its thematic activities. In fact, Warzone now offers themed skins from films like SAW or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
