Entertainment Software Rating Board rated Watch Dogs Complete Edition on next-gen consoles
Watch Dogs (the first game) is remembered more for its marketing campaign than for the game itself, thus joining a sad club made up of titles like Dead Island and Aliens Colonial Marines. For years, this game promised graphics of a new level and deep gameplay. Instead, its players criticized that WD was little more than just another generic sandbox. However, if you want to give this first installment a new chance, you can do it in the form of the Watch Dogs Complete Edition.
The special edition of the original Watch Dogs would be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. This was reported by GamesRadar + and is something Ubisoft has not responded to yet. What is the explanation for this rating change? You see, Watch Dogs Legion, the third installment in the franchise, has a copy of Watch Dogs Complete Edition within its Season Pass. So now that Legion is releasing for both PS5 and XSX, you will be able to play the full version of the first title on both devices as well. It makes sense for the Complete Edition to be updated to reflect its upcoming availability on these platforms.
It’s funny how the Watch Dogs franchise evolved after its first installment. Watch Dogs 2 gave the series a much bigger personality, with colorful characters and a more charismatic narrative. Interestingly, Legion seems a bit closer to the first installment in terms of aesthetics, but with more creative and memorable dynamics. In this way, returning to the first WD title may serve as an opportunity to appreciate the ways in which the franchise has evolved over the past six years.
Watch Dogs Complete Edition will likely be available very soon on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
