Activision-Blizzard earnings report confirms new hires to work on Warcraft 4?
Activision-Blizzard recently released its earnings report for the last quarter, where Blizzard Entertainment President Allen Brack gave us a hint that the new Warcraft projects will launch in 2021. However, there is still no specific date for this, and there are no details on what they are working on either. Despite this, fans have already started speculating on Warcraft 4 and expect new developments soon.
“We’ve talked before about our plans to expand the size of development teams, and we intend to follow the launch of Shadowlands with even more content across both the modern game and in Classic. But if we step back, we think of Warcraft as a huge franchise, and WoW is only a part of it. We’re always exploring how to express Warcraft with new experiences and we see a lot of opportunity for growth in 2021 and beyond,” Brack said.
Allen Brack’s statement lets us see that Blizzard considers WoW to be just one part of the great franchise. Therefore, it is expected that other titles will be announced and not just news for World of Warcraft fans.
The statement also confirms that the team is expanding and rumors indicate that Warcraft 4 could be released as an RTS for PC , although the possibilities are endless.
Recall that the last launch of World of Warcraft occurred in 2011. Since then, the franchise has not received great news although the game continues to generate exorbitant profits for Blizzard. So it stands to reason that making big changes to the franchise is not a priority for investors.
It is possible that with the launch of the next generation consoles a change is planned soon, even a game for mobile devices could be announced, it is difficult to know, but we will be attentive for more news.
