Ubisoft is warning of a fraud attempt related to invitations to play in advance of Far Cry 6. As weeks ago with Capcom happen in that case to enjoy before time of Resident Evil Village, the French company warns of a new case of phishing, called the term for any technique that seeks deception through identity theft.
New case of phishing: if you receive one of those emails, ignore it
This time the scam is being carried out via emails. The actors responsible for the case send mass emails to video game players and content creators posing as Ubisoft both in name and even in graphic materials (exact replicas of the official web portal, icon appropriation, sender account with company name in question…); but it is all false.
Ubisoft recommends ignoring or deleting these messages. In no case open them, give personal or bank information or download the contents attached to said communications via email. They are already investigating the origin of this fraudulent action.
“Some of our content and media creators are sending them fake emails using the Ubisoft domain with invitations to join Far Cry 6 Early Access. Please ignore those emails. Our security teams are investigating it. “
Far Cry 6 Still In Development – No Confirmed Release Date
The only certainty is that Far Cry 6 is still in development and Ubisoft has not sent any type of invitation to players, content creators or media currently. Following its delay, initially scheduled to hit stores in February 2021, the title will be released sometime in the future, yet to be determined.
