The Resident Evil saga is known for being one of the great references of horror video games. Last month, Capcom announced that its franchise was about to reach a whopping 100 million units sold, a figure it has already officially surpassed.
This is stated by the company while announcing that Resident Evil has made history at Capcom marking an entire era. The figure contemplates global sales and highlights that 80% of these sales were made outside of Japan, the country of origin of the title.
It is clear that Capcom will continue betting on one of its most profitable and successful sagas. Its latest release has been Resident Evil 3 Remake, which we talked about extensively in its analysis. In addition, the Japanese studio announced yesterday the new installment of the saga, Resident Evil 8: Village, showing a spectacular presentation trailer during the PlayStation 5 event.
