During the last months, there has been a lot of talk about the new Call of Duty that will be released this year, with leaks that pointed out that it would be a great reinterpretation of the classic Black Ops; and in this line the latest information regarding the Activision and Treyarch project moves. The novelty? Without an official confirmation in between, it is pointed out that this new game will respond to the name of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
There is still speculation whether or not a reboot of the first Black Ops
The leak comes from Okami on Twitter, and this has been ratified by Eurogamer magazine, which although he points out that this would not be the cover image of the new COD, it is the name that Treyarch has opted for. And it should not be forgotten that in the Warzone battle royale some fans also claim to have found clues that point in this same direction: Cold War.
As its name suggests, of course, the 2020 Call of Duty would once again confront us with the armed conflicts caused during the Cold War, but it remains to be seen whether it is a reinterpretation of the original game, or a new story. The well-known journalist Jason Schreier already warned weeks ago that the game will not be a reboot of Black Ops, but he does believe he agrees on the theme of the game, with armed conflicts such as that of Vietnam as one of the axes of the story. Just in the last few hours the Treyarch team presented a video commemorating the 10th anniversary of Black Ops .
Weeks ago, Activision also released its financial results with Call of Duty, leading a year marked by success. Considering that in the coming weeks there are several events such as the Summer Game Fest , it is to be hoped that it will not take us long to know the first official data of this awaited war action video game.
