Gears is one of Microsoft’s most successful and popular franchises, so it’s no surprise that it’s going to continue. What may surprise many is to learn that, according to information from an insider, The Coalition is also working on a new experience for the series.
Klobrille, renowned Xbox insider, spoke about The Coalition present at ResetEra. The first thing he made clear is that it is a development studio that has multiple teams and as proof is that Gears 5 , Gears Tactics and Gears Pop were developed simultaneously, although the last 2 were supported by external teams.
Later, I highlight that currently The Coalition has 2 art directors in its ranks: Greg Juby and Aryan Hanbeck. With this you have the opportunity to have 2 teams that develop games simultaneously.
“The studio’s past has shown us that they can work on 2 games simultaneously since The Coalition was created,” explained the insider.
THE COALITION WOULD WORK ON 2 GEARS PROJECTS
Considering all of the above, Klobrille believes that 2 different games are currently in the works within The Coalition.
As you can imagine, the first of the following projects will be the new Gears , according to their information. The other would be a small to medium-scale project experimenting with what the Gears franchise can offer. Something like what we already saw with Gears Tactics and Gears Pop! .
“Whether they build – just to give an example – a single player horror game called Gears: Nightmares or Dark Night: Nightmares , in the end it is irrelevant. In both cases it will be a new experience in all but name.
The Coalition is a Gears studio and is proud of the franchise. There is enough freedom within the Gears universe itself , ”he explained.
It is important to note that, for now, no official source has confirmed what Klobrille says. So, although he is a recognized insider, we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt. We will tell you when something becomes official.
And to you, what did you think of this information? Would you like The Coaltiion’s second project to be on a new IP? Tell us in the comments.
