343 Industries shared the news that is sure to be bittersweet for Halo fans. What happens is that he confirmed that the online services of the saga on Xbox 360 will come to an end soon.
Through a blog post, 343 Industries announced that Halo’s online services for Xbox 360 will be shut down in December 2021. There is currently no exact date; however, it will be a year from now. That is, it will be between December 18 and 31, 2021.
“Month by month, the use of these online services on Xbox 360 continues to decline, creating a greater imbalance between the time and work required to maintain it against the impact it has on the Halo community, ” said 343 Industries. “This is not to say that we do not value everyone who plays Halo – if we do. But, as with many businesses, our teams must balance the needs and available resources to prioritize the areas and opportunities that have the greatest impact. “

Now the question is, what does it mean to end support for Halo online services on Xbox 360? As explained by 343 Industries, what will happen is that the services that are the foundations of some features of Halo for Xbox 360 will stop working.
Thus, although these titles can continue to be played, some of the features and experiences that require online services will be disabled or reduced. In other words, the online experience will no longer fully function.
WHAT ARE THE GAMES THAT WILL BE AFFECTED?
The games that will be affected by this decision will be all the Halo of the main saga that is available on Xbox 360. Now, you must bear in mind that each of the games will be affected differently.
In a table, 343 Industries explained that Halo Reach; Halo 3; Halo 4 and Halo 3 ODST will be out of matchmaking, so you should forget about their online matches. That said, the multiplayer option will continue to serve Halo Wars and Halo Spartan Assault.
