Sumo Digital’s latest project, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, debuted just a few months ago for PlayStation 5. The studio, however, is already working on more projects, such as Hood: Outlaws and Legends, and more information has just emerged today. about one of them unannounced.
Days ago we informed you that clues appeared about the 2 new games that Sumo Digital had in development thanks to job vacancies that appeared on the studio’s official site.
Well, as time goes by we will know more about these projects and today after almost 4 months, we know more than one of them.
SUMO DIGITAL WORKS ON A FANTASY GAME
New details of one of the Sumo Digital games emerged indirectly thanks to a list of the best young talent in the industry, made by MCV / DEVELOP.
Featured in it is Sumo Digital narrative designer Sarah Longthorne. Something interesting is that a description reads that the creative has been working on a triple A game based on one of the “best and most beloved fantasy franchises in the world.”

We remind you that Sumo Digital has 8 studios in various parts of the world. Thanks to this workforce, we know that the studio is working on at least 2 new projects.
One of them is from a new high profile player vs player shooter IP, so it is believed that Longthorne’s project could be the other one that is in development and that it would be from an existing open-world triple A franchise which is well established.
This in and of itself doesn’t reveal too much — there are plenty of fantasy franchises that people would call some of the world’s best-known and best-loved — but some possibilities are lurking out there. For example, Sumo Digital has worked with Playground Games in the past, namely Forza Horizon 4, and we know that this studio is currently at work on the new Fable game for Xbox. Perhaps Sumo Digital is helping out with that title.
What do you think of the new Sumo Digital project? Do you think it’s Fable? Tell us in the comments.
