Given its games-as-a-service proposal, Final Fantasy XIV has seen the arrival of a large amount of content over the years since its launch in 2013. Of course, this means that its size has been increasing and currently it could be a detail to take into account in terms of users’ storage space, especially on PC. However, Square Enix already thought about it and will soon launch an SSD in Japan so that all the content of the MMORPG is concentrated there.
IO Data and Square Enix announced their collaboration for the launch of a special edition Final Fantasy XIV SSD for the Japanese market that will be released on December 2, however, pre-orders are now available via the Square Enix e-Store. The product will feature packaging with game art showing its most representative characters, while the solid-state drive will have a special design and the printed RPG logo.

This Final Fantasy XIV SSD will have a capacity of 500 GB and its transfer will operate using the USB 3.2 standard. The launch price of this SSD will be $ 115 USD and the best news is that thanks to the GigaCrystaPhantom application from IO Data it will be possible to directly transfer all the Final Fantasy XIV content from a hard drive or other drive, so no all content will need to be downloaded again.
Final Fantasy XIV is available on PS4 and PC and is also coming to PS5 with improvements.
