One way or another, it seems more and more likely that the Silent Hill series will return to stores with one, or two, new installments. Before Konami was rumored to have licensed the brand to Bloober Team, creators of The Medium, Sony was rumored to have a Silent Hill project on its hands. New rumors suggest that this is still the case, but it would have changed hands within Sony and now another studio would be in charge.
The well-known insider KatharsisT assures in the specialized ResetEra forums that “the studio has changed” within Sony, but cannot reveal the new study due to “personal reasons”. After the latest rumors, Konami seems to have its most important IPs up and running again with this Silent Hill project with Sony, that of Bloober Team and the possible remake of Metal Gear Solid by Bluepoint Games . The only classic license that is still unknown is Castlevania.
At the moment it is not known when these Konami projects could be revealed, but with E3 2021 just around the corner, the Los Angeles fair seems a good background to do so. Although Sony will not attend the digital events of E3 2021, but presumably it will organize something on its own, as it always does.
