One thing PlayStation can boast of is its extensive network of in-house studios that has grown organically in recent years. The company has bet on the growth of its creative power with the founding of new studios and one of the most recent seems already to be working on one of Sony’s beloved franchises.
Almost 1 year ago, Sony announced the founding of a new studio, located in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital, with which the company would seek to expand the development power of its studio chain.
Well, recently the developer announced through a job vacancy that he is looking for senior animators to participate in giving life “to the next chapter of the cinematographic narrative”, who would be in charge of creating animation with pre-renders and graphics generated in real-time. Most interesting, however, is that the description mentions that the studio is already working on “one of the well-known and beloved PlayStation franchises.”
WHAT PROJECT IS SIE MALAYSIA WORKING ON?
One thing you should know is that SIE Malaysia supports other studios in the Sony Interactive Entertainment network, such as Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, SIE Santa Monica Studio, Guerrilla Games, Bend Studios, Sucker Punch Productions, SIE Japan Studio, and SIE San Diego. ( which has recently seen a lot of activity ), so it is very likely that he will work on one of the projects that were already announced, such as Horizon Forbidden West and the new God of War installment that is already in development.
The vacancy doesn’t offer much detail about the project, so it’s hard to tell which beloved PlayStation franchise it’s referring to, but it’s almost certain to make it to PlayStation 5. Likewise, there’s a chance the studio is working on a title unannounced. In fact, some believe it is related to the secret project that SIE San Diego Studio is rumored to be developing, which could be related to Uncharted, which, by the way, is a flagship Sony franchise.
