Yes, the time has come, and in a few days, PlayStation 5 will be in the homes of millions of players around the world. Although the first thing that many will want to do is play a title that takes advantage of the new generation, like Demon’s Souls, the direct compatibility it has with PS4 cannot be forgotten and this opens the possibility of enjoying the games of this second console, some them with improvements, and today Sony showed how you can bring your content to the new hardware.
Sony Interactive Entertainment presented a new video on the official PlayStation channel on YouTube where it shows the game and data transfer options that PS4 and PS5 users will have. Initially, the brand offers the possibility of making a direct transfer of data between consoles, which will be possible by connecting both to the same Wi-Fi signal and logging in with the same user account, although it is recommended to join both hardware with a Ethernet cable to save time. From there, it will be enough to follow the options on the screen so that the data moves from the console and the best thing is that this can be carried out in the background on PS5.
The next option is through the disc, so it will be enough to insert a physical PS4 game in PS5 for the traditional installation process to take place. On the other hand, the third option allows users to connect an external hard disk, same that has been used in PS4, to the PS5, however, Sony recommends that this disk is not used to transfer games and data, but that games stay there so they don’t take up space on the SSD. Finally, the fourth option is via download, connecting to PlayStation Network with the same user account that was used on PS4 so that the library is available to download on PS5.
