Silent Hill, SIREN, Gravity Rush and The Last Guardian – Directors and Producers All Team Up to Found Bokeh Game Studio
The name Keiichiro Toyama is one of the most important in the development history of Silent Hill. It is true that this did not return to work in the franchise after the first installment. However, the first SH title was under his direct control, as this had been its writer, set designer, and director. This first installment provided the foundation and structure for their next two games, which received much more love and acclaim. In this way, Toyama has left Sony to found his own studio and took several directors.
What Toyama has announced is that he and several prominent figures from other studios have parted ways to create their own company called Bokeh Game Studio. Along with him, this new YouTube video shows this director talking with other members of this new project. Among these are Kazunobu Sato (producer of The Last Guardian) and Junya Okura (lead designer of Gravity Rush). In addition to these, the three comment that other Sony workers have joined them as well.
They don’t have much to announce during the video, but it’s still interesting to hear them talk and share for a few minutes.
Toyama was also a director and creator of franchises such as SIREN and Gravity Rush. During the video, several concept art images can be displayed in which horror creatures are seen. Considering who the main figure in this study is, it should come as no surprise if the first thing they do is return to survival horror. The latest Resident Evil games and the indie explosion of 2010 shows that there are millions waiting to scare you with a video game. The future of horror games looks pretty inspiring.
