Ghost of Tsushima landed on our shores last July and, apparently, it has taken little time to conquer the entire island. And also to PS4 players, of course. The fact is that Sucker Punch’s game became its premiere on PlayStation’s best-selling new IP, accumulating nearly 2.4 million sales in its first 3 days. And now, less than four months after its premiere, the samurai adventure reaches another milestone: Ghost of Tsushima surpasses 5 million games sold.

The news comes from an article published by the New York Times, dedicated to the launch of the new PlayStation 5. In it, journalist Seth Schiesel cites this sales data for the game, mentioning that the game has “more than 5 million copies sold since its debut in July. ” A data that comes from the PlayStation itself, as confirmed later in its personal Twitter account.
Launching a completely new IP is a big gamble for any company, but in view of Ghost of Tsushima’s numbers, it seems clear that the play has gone wonderfully for PlayStation. We remind you that Sucker Punch expanded the game last month for free with the introduction of the Legends multiplayer mode and that shortly after they published a second update with the first raid of this cooperative mode.
For its part, and as we learned a few days ago, PlayStation 4 already registers more than 113 million consoles sold throughout its journey, on the eve of a PS5 that has been released today in some countries.
