An insider who works at Sony Interactive Entertainment has seen quite a bit of Polyphony’s secret project and he tells me that it is Polyphony’s most ambitious project ever. He says that it is open world and has the same mechanics as the mainline Gran Turismo titles.
It is going to blow Forza Horizon 4 out of the water if this is true. Races in Gran Turismo are way more fun than the ramming slugfests in Forza Horizon. Gran Turismo will also have a good campaign and customization too.
Gran Turismo 7 – Release date and everything else we know
The launch of the driving video game Gran Turismo 7 is delayed to 2022 due to the covid-19 pandemic. This has been confirmed by Jim Ryan, director of PlayStation, who has not given more details about a possible date.
Gran Turismo 7 will not see the light until at least the year 2022. Jim Ryan has explained that this delay in the initial launch date – expected for 2021 – is due to the fact that the production of the game has been affected by the pandemic.
“The production of the Gran Turismo 7 game has been affected by covid-19 and its premiere will go from 2021 to 2022. With the pandemic still ongoing, it is a changing situation and some critical aspects have been slowed down in recent months”, has explained in an interview with GQ magazine.
From Sony, they announce that “they will share more details about the launch date of GT7 when possible”.
The news comes as a surprise despite the fact that many other titles have also been affected for the same reason. This delay is a blow, especially for lovers of video games and motor.
Gran Turismo is one of the most successful sagas in the digital world. Its 12th official edition, Gran Turismo Sport, is a benchmark in the world of Esports with an international competition protected by the FIA in which we also have illustrious Spanish brand participants such as Coque López or Manu Rodríguez.
Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo, has given the first details of the new instalment. This will share the essence of the first titles of the early 21st century and also will have a great influence from Japanese motorsport.
“I have grown up as a car enthusiast surrounded by the influence of Japanese manufacturers. That is the driving force behind my production. Although the title has reached a global level, I am not forgetting that it originated in Japan,” Yamauchi said in remarks to the Japanese medium Octane Japan.
