Trademarks are always a very exciting thing – whenever a brand decides to record said item, players’ hearts beat faster. This was the case, for example, with the recent situation with Nintendo and The Legend of Zelda series of games, as well as with a potential, next console from Microsoft – this would be the Xbox Series X/S. And although it always gives rise to a bit of creativity, there is usually something to it.
And so is now also the case of the mysterious Soho Engine, which Sony has registered in Switzerland and New Zealand (it is the same trademark that they registered in several places in Europe last year). We don’t know much about it, but players have already stimulated their gray cells and began to inquire what the mysterious name may be associated with – the most ideas come about a new, unannounced project.
Following its initial registration in Europe back in October 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment trademarked Soho Engine in New Zealand and Switzerland on April 20:

What are the most common titles? First of all, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In the comic book universe, SoHo was the neighborhood in New York where Peter Parker lived with Mary Jane Watson. In the same neighborhood, Norman Osborn kept his Green Goblin outfit. Another interesting way is pointing to a new title from London Studio – the creators of The Gateway. Why they? Well, before that, the team worked under the name Team Soho!
Be sure to let us know what your suspicions are regarding the whole matter. Do you think it’s about the title of Insomniac Games, London Studio, or maybe completely different developers?
