AMD has released a new video for Godfall in which Counterplay Games details its key technological features. And according to the developers, Godfall will require 12GB of VRAM at 4K / Ultra to play smoothly.
Now, as everyone knows, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX3080 comes with 10GB of VRAM. NVIDIA has stated that this amount of VRAM is sufficient for current and next generation games. So it will be interesting to see if the RTX3080 will have any VRAM limitations on Godfall at 4K / Ultra.
Counterplay Games will use DXR, via DirectX 12 Ultimate , to add support for Ray Tracing. The team will use Ray Tracing to improve the shadows of the game. This will be the only thing that will be enhanced via RT, so don’t expect better reflections, ambient occlusion, or global lighting.
Godfall will also support AMD’s Infinity Cache, as well as Variable Rate Shading. It will also support FidelityFX Sharpening on all GPUs. PC gamers can use this technique to improve the game’s graphics (which can be blurry due to the TAA technology that Godfall will use).
Godfall will be released on November 12 and exclusive to Epic Games. The game will require an internet connection to play, it has no offline mode.
Opinion: Surely with the NVIDIA RTX 3080 it works well, since it uses GDDR6X memory and has more bandwidth.
