Metro is one of those sagas that combines a unique and oppressive setting with a deep and detailed story to offer one of the most complete experiences that we can find in thefirst-person shooter genre. 4A Games managed to seamlessly translate Dmitri Glujovski’sbook sagainto the video game, adding exquisite gameplay. However, itis possible that the future of the developer goes through the creation of a new IP.
A job offer reveals that 4A Games, creators of the Metro saga, could be working on a new IP
The Metro saga will continue, as announced in November last year by the developer itself. However, as Altchar has unearthed,a recent job posting for the Environment Concept Artist role reveals that the studio is looking to beef up the roster to create “a credible new universe.”
This would indicate that 4A Games is working on a new IP, although more details such as that the candidate must have a “passion for FPS” or that they are looking for a “realistic but artistic and atmospheric style” are very reminiscent of the Metro franchise. Additionally, the studio is also seeking a Senior Technical Artist to “create the most realistic video game environments ever seen.”
There are hardly any details in the job offer about the game, other than that it will be built with the 4A Games Engine graphics engine. We will have to wait for a confirmation from the developer to know for sure if it is a new IP or a new delivery within the universe of the Metro franchise.
Remember that in the meantime you can enjoy Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition , the definitive edition of the third game in the saga, on PC since last May 6 and that on June 18 it will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S
