Jak & Daxter is another of the franchises that Naughty Dog launched in the days of PlayStation 2, winning the affection of many people.
For several generations a new installment has been requested but Naughty Dog has been busy with other projects such as Uncharted or The Last of Us, games that have definitely given the studio a great reputation.
During a conversation between Ted Price, founder of Insomniac Games and Evan Wells, co-president of Naughty Dog, the subject of Jak & Daxter came up and if the studio continues to ask for a new installment.
Wells was clear in saying that via Twitter they continue to see different campaigns where people ask for a new Jak & Daxter every day. The messages range from 280 character comments, memes and any multimedia content.
“I hate breaking them but we don’t have any Jak & Daxters in development right now,” Wells said. However, the Naughty Dog co-president and team are very fond of the characters and would definitely like to work on a new installment .
Naughty Dog working on a new Uncharted?
Last week, thanks to a Bloomberg report, it was revealed that Naughty Dog would already be working on a new Uncharted installment.
Originally, the project was going to be in charge of Bend Studio (Days Gone). However, Sony would have decided that it was best if they were supported by Naughty Dog.
Something that did not like some members of Bend Stdio who preferred to step aside because they thought they were being relegated to a supporting study.
Back to Jak & Daxter. Naughty Dog handled the trilogy we saw on PlayStation 2 and a racing spin-off called “Jak X: Combat Racing . ” After that, other titles like Daxter and The Lost Frontier were released, but they were worked on by other studios. ( Ready at Dawn and High Impact Games ).
Naughty Dog is not lying when they say they still have a fondness for the series. In The Last of Us Part 2, an arcade was found that made reference to the racing game.
