After a few years since it was released, Ubisoft would be working on a new installment of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
It has been three and a half years since Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was released. Developed by Ubisoft, this friendly version of X-COM turned out to be quite a successful game with good reviews. While Kingdom Battle did not take any awards of the year. if it turned out to be a smart investment on Ubisoft’s part. And when a title is successful, they will most likely see a sequel after a certain amount of time. Now, after so many years, it seems that the developers of the French company are working on something secret. Will it be a sequel?
You see, Rabbids’ Twitter account had been inactive for a year. His name used to be Rabbidsoffical… but now, they have changed his name to MarioRabbids. Why change their name at this point, when they have announced absolutely nothing? There are several possibilities, but the possibility that it is a continuation of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle should not escape our thoughts.
Added to this, Ubisoft Milan attracted some looks when they announced that they were looking for a 3D animator to work on the production of a “prestigious AAA game”. Is it possible that both events are linked to the same game? Several years have passed since Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was released and the title had good sales, what would be the reason not to make a new installment?
It’s funny, since Kingdom Battle launched at a much less secure time for the Nintendo Switch. The console was having good sales, but nothing compared to what we are seeing at the moment. In its prime, releasing a sequel to an already popular title would dovetail nicely with what you might expect. We will see.
