LG Electronics Inc. said on Friday it will participate in Europe’s largest consumer electronics fair despite concern about the coronavirus.
The South Korean technology firm said on Friday that it will participate in the IFA 2020 fair scheduled for September 3-5 in Berlin.
LG said its Chief Technology Officer, Park Il-pyung, will be one of the speakers at the technology exhibition press conference on opening day and will present the company’s vision in the era of the “new normal” triggered by the coronavirus pandemic.
The IFA fair this year announced that it will reduce capacity due to the pandemic and limit the number of daily visitors.
What is most striking about this announcement is that LG was the first major manufacturer to announce its absence at Mobile World Congress 2020 due to fear of the spread of the coronavirus. Now, however, the company believes that the risk is not as high.
On the other hand, Samsung Electronics said last month that it will not participate in this year’s IFA fair due to concern about the virus.
