A few weeks ago there has been speculation about the sale of Honor , Huawei’s secondary brand. Due to the American blockade, the Chinese manufacturer wants to sell this brand so that it will stop suffering from this blockade and can use Google applications and services on its phones normally. The sale is getting closer.
Huawei prepares to sell Honor for $15 billion
Apparently, they would almost have an agreement with the government of Shenzhen, the city of origin of the brand and Digital China, the main distributor of the brand’s phones.
The sale of Honor would mean that the brand would no longer have the restrictions that it currently suffers . So they could use Google applications and services again, so their phone sales could recover. Since the blockade, its sales have plunged, so from Huawei they seek to solve this in the most effective way possible.
The sale has a higher value than initially expected since weeks ago there was talk of an operation of about $15 billion, something that has increased significantly now. Although now it seems that the entire company would be sold.
At the moment none of the parties involved has said anything about this operation. Therefore, we will have to wait for the sale of Honor to be confirmed. Huawei will be able to prevent its secondary brand from having problems, although they will continue to suffer from this block, at least for now.
