It has already been mentioned before; the current PlayStation exclusives are spectacular and they are big AAA productions, which implies that their development costs are great, but their sales correspond to 10% of the PS4 user base. Obviously this is a business and money has to flow to recoup the investment and see a profit, so Sony decided to release some of the PlayStation Studios titles on PC and one of them is already making history.
DAYS GONE AND HORIZON ZERO DAWN STARTED WELL ON PC
According to a report by VG24 / 7 , Days Gone has had a great start after its launch on PC, where it seems to be achieving the redemption that it could not have on PS4, however, it has fallen short in terms of what it achieved by another major title that was released on that platform: Horizon Zero Dawn. In that sense, the information compares the 27,450 users that Days Gone has had as the maximum peak on Steam, versus the 56,557 that Horizon Zero Dawn had after its launch on PC.
HORIZON ZERO DAWN IS DOING GOOD BUSINESS FOR PLAYSTATION ON PC
On the other hand, Horizon Zero Dawn is considered the most successful PlayStation Studios game on PC so far, and not because of the numbers it has had on Steam or the Epic Games Store, but because of what it has represented for the business of Sony entertainment because according to the Sony IR Day 2021 Game & Network Services Segment document, Horizon Zero Dawn registered a return on investment of 250% after debuting on PC, that is, IP is having a better performance in the market thanks to available on PlayStation consoles and PC distribution platforms.
Thus, so far the numbers indicate that Sony’s decision to bring its exclusives to PC has been successful. In fact, in recent days the PlayStation Studios beta site was opened on Steam, where the exclusive offer will be concentrated that will first see the light on PS4 and PS5, and then do the same on PC with all the improvements and options that that it implies.
