Hitman developers announce Project 007: a James Bond game

Project 007, the new game in development made by IO Interactive, the talented studio known for Hitman, was revealed.

Over the past few years, IO Interactive has earned the respect of the masses for its two Hitman games. The two seasons of The Adventures of Agent 47 received good reviews and their sales were positive. What’s more, they were so positive that IO Interactive was able to separate from Square Enix and become an independent developer. However, they had been working in the same franchise over and over for five years now. It was time to make a change and work on something new. What will this new project be? One called Project 007.

In a short teaser, IO Interactive confirmed that Project 007 is in development. They are still hiring workers, so their development is most likely at an early stage. According to these developers, this game “will feature an original Bond story [in which] players will step into the shoes of the world’s favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the first James Bond origin story.” That’s right, it will be a prequel to all the Bond stories that have been told before.

There is a lot of potential in this idea. After all, what works best about Hitman are his stealth mechanics. It’s easy to imagine how this stealth and infiltration could be used to make a Bond adventure feel much more engaging than any other shooter.

When will more information be known? It is not known. IO has been very suspicious of your information shared on this title. Either they want to give a big surprise or they have a long, long way to go before they can show something decent. Anyway, here’s an idea with a ton of potential.
