Instead of a battle royale mode , the new game in the Halo series by Microsoft and 343 Industries could have a “big team battles 2.0”, according to an insider Klobrille on Twitter. This insider has proven other times to be a reliable source on Xbox issues, so around Halo Infinite now he says that there could be something great for teams in the new installment.
Klobrille the same leaker who dropped the news about the grapple hook being in Halo Infinite as well as split multiplayer modes, where Infinite has both classic and modern style playlists to unify the community.
The new rumour is that Halo Infinite will NOT have Battle Royale but instead “Big Team Battle 2.0”. This will include massively enhanced vehicular combat, squad spawning, incoming pelican drops and much more.
This seems to be a battlefield type game mode for Halo multiplayer. Think large 32 v 32 player combat. This also resurrects Bungies old idea of the “Global Battle” mode which was planned for Reach however cut due to hardware constraints.
Klobrille also states that Halo Infinite will have a massively expanded forge mode versus Halo 5. If the community wants a Battle Royale mode they will be able to create it with Forge.
Link to the tweets here:
Halo once was a series about setting trends, not following them. The fact 343 tries to go back to this principle is a good thing.
Forge will be MASSIVELY expanded on in Halo Infinite. I’m sure if players would want to see a Halo Battle Royale mode, players could just create it.
