Google has announced today that it is postponing the presentation scheduled for next week of the beta version of its latest mobile operating system, Android 11 , due to the protests and riots that are taking place these days in the United States.
“We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate,” Google said in a message posted on its Android developer website.
The event was originally scheduled to take place virtually on Wednesday, according to the website. In a tweet, Google has said it will announce more details about the new version of Android “soon” , without specifying any date.
Protests have spread across the United States due to the murder of George Floyd, a black man from Minneapolis who died after being restrained by a white cop who put his knee on his neck.
