The video game development scene is highly mobile and few creatives stay in a studio for many years. In these cases, the end of a video game is the beginning of a new project and many creatives change companies constantly. This is what has allowed The Initiative, Xbox Game Studios team, to form a true Dream Team and it was recently revealed that the God of War production company has joined their ranks to work on Perfect Dark.
MORE TALENT JOINS THE DEVELOPMENT OF PERFECT DARK
Although the sudden departure of Drew Murray from The Initiative, who decided to return to Insomniac Games, drew attention as a strange move, the reality of the new Xbox studio is that it is overflowing with talent everywhere and continues to add creatives to its ranks. On this occasion, it was the turn of the God of War gameplay features producer, Rhonda Cox, who reported through her LinkedIn account that she accepted an offer as a producer at The Initiative to work on the new Perfect Dark that takes place in the studio.
RHONDA COX HAS A GREAT TRACK RECORD IN THE INDUSTRY
Rhonda Cox’s career in the industry began in 2005 with X-Men Legends II, but in 16 years she participated in an impressive number of projects for Activision and Blizzard, such as Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, Diablo, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, among others. This successful path led her to SIE Santa Monica, where she was part of God of War, GOTY 2018, and one of the best games on PlayStation 4. Cox also participated as a producer in the development of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
With the arrival of Rhonda Cox, new talent joins The Initiative, a study that has relied on creatives who participated in AAA titles of the caliber of Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
