Last week, the world caught fire on a rumor that a GoW sequel was in development. It wasn’t a rumor with a very credible source, but that didn’t stop thousands of people from running to celebrate. After all, fans of the franchise are more than thirsty for a continuation of what was seen in 2018. And the possibility that an installment of this installment was in development did not sound so absurd. However, Cory Balrog took it upon himself to deliver the final thrust to the rumor, taunting him openly.
The director of the first installment had a funny comment on Twitter a day after God of War 2 rumors set the world on fire. This director, Cory Balrog, simply shared a Transformers gif in which a character says “hahaha … no.” And you don’t have to be a clairvoyant to understand that he is referring to the GoW 2 rumors. Actually, it makes sense that this seems absurd to him. After all, Balrog himself commented that he would make a new property before returning to the world of Kratos.
There’s a long, long way to go before GoW returns.
However, it would be a good move to release a remastered version of God of War on the PlayStation 5. This was one of the biggest games of the past generation and even carried Game of the Year awards.
