Dying Light 2 is one of the most anticipated games of recent years … And the ones that have been waiting the longest, all is said. After a series of delays and a long time without news, Techland broke its silence in March aiming for a launch in 2021, and starting a new phase of its development that is more transparent and open with its players. That is why the members of the study have wanted to answer the questions of the fans in a new video that offers interesting details about this zombie adventure in the open world.
In fact, Associate Producer Julia Szynkaruk has some really cool things to say about the open world of Dying Light 2, as shared by MP1ST: “Yes, there will be a lot more open world events in Dying Light 2. We won’t just have a lively, crowded world. of encounters, you can also explore new locations such as GRE quarantines or ‘dark places’. ” As you can see, the Global Relief Effort – known as SAI in the Spanish version of the game – will continue to be present in this sequel, the organization to which the protagonist of the first game belongs.
“GRE is such a huge organization,” explains Szynkaruk, “and they have left a lot of footprints across the map.” To this, chief designer Tymon Smektala adds, via WCCFTech, that “[the GRE] will play a very important role in the overall background of the game. You will see lots of bits of information, collectibles, notes and references to what happened to it, and what role played in the events between Dying Light 1 and 2, “where he notes that some of the open world activities will involve investigating the organization’s abandoned labs and quarantine zones.
Dying Light 2 and the ending of The Following
One topic that will interest many players in the series is how this sequel will connect with the events of the first game. The first game’s story DLC here, to avoid spoiling anyone. But we will say that it has more than one possible ending, and it is still unknown which of them is canonical. On this subject, Techland has wanted to maintain the mystery for the sequel.
“It’s still too early to tell you, but let me just say that the events of Dying Light 2, and the events leading up to DL2, are all strongly connected to what happened in the first game,” says Smektala. “When you play Dying Light 2, of course you will discover the answer to this great question.”
Dying Light 2 is currently scheduled for 2021, without further specifying its launch date. An adventure that continues after a year of alleged internal problems in the studio, and that promises to offer a quality experience on PS4 and Xbox One, as well as on next-generation consoles. On the latter, the game will have several performance and quality modes on PS5 and Xbox Series, promises its study. Waiting to see it in action again.
