With the official announcement of Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fat, the rumors have finally found confirmation that they wanted the saga ready to welcome a new main chapter.
For the moment, the JRPG has not yet shown itself to the public, but the team led by the trio of Yuji Horii, Akira Toriyama and Koichi Sugiyama has already shared some relevant information. Among the latter, the news that Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate will not have a turn-based combat system stands out in particular. In this regard, the creator of the series added: ” It will not disappear completely, but it will be different. Everyone who has played the Dragon Quest series so far will still feel at home .”
An interesting confirmation has also affected the narrative component of the JRPG. According to what was promised by the development team, Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate will offer a plot dedicated mainly to an adult audience. The plot will in fact be darker and darker than the other games in the series, and will address the issue of the need to make important choices.
As of now, Square Enix hasn’t confirmed any launch window for Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate. Furthermore, the platforms that will welcome the game remain unknown, which in any case will not be the only new entry for the series: during the same event, for example, Dragon Quest 3 HD 2D Remake was also announced.
