Despite its eventful premiere and all the controversy with the lawsuits, Cyberpunk 2077 has had the best digital launch of all time. This is what Superdata, the firm specialized in video games and technology of the analyst giant Nielsen Company, says. The data from this company support that the CD Projekt RED game has achieved that record both in number of sales and in profits obtained.
How much have they sold and obtained?
According to estimates made by this firm, the Cd Projekt Red game has sold 10.2 million digital copies. Most of Cyberpunk 2077’s sales have been in digital form and SuperData claims it could have been more if the game hadn’t been removed from the PS4 PS Store for performance issues. Of course, most digital purchases were made on PC, specifically 80% of the total.
Furthermore, SuperData adds that the aforementioned record includes all copies that have been returned. However, the company says that according to its data the returns have not affected “substantially ” the aggregate sales of Cyberpunk 2077. Today we have learned that many players are receiving refunds without having to return the game.
the analyst company warns that CD Projekt RED has lost “image” after the launch of its latest game and recommends that the Polish studio invest the necessary amount of money to solve the problems and reset its valuation before launching the next video game.
