Bad news. Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most anticipated adventures of the entire generation, has again delayed its release date. Originally planned for April 2020, CD Projekt RED’s open-world RPG has postponed its release until September of this year, a date that has now been pushed back by a couple of months, until this coming November 19.
In a statement via social media, the Polish studio apologizes to its fans, although they promise it is the right decision for the game to meet its quality standards: “Those who are familiar with the way we do Our games know that we do n’t publish anything that isn’t ready for it. The phrase ‘ready when it’s done’ is not a phrase we say because it sounds good, it is something we believe in even if it means dealing with complaints about it. “
“At the same time, we are fully aware that making this decision costs us your trust, and exchanging trust for some additional time is one of the most complex decisions a developer can make. And even though we believe it is the decision Right for the game, we’d still like to apologize for making you wait longer. Our intention is to make Cyberpunk 2077 something that will last with you for years to come. In the end, we hope you understand why we have done what we have done. “
CD Projekt notes that Cyberpunk 2077 is already finished in terms of content and gameplay, be it missions, scenes, items, and skills. However, the large amount of content in the game means that they require more time to review it, look for possible errors, and correctly balance all its aspects. They also remember that there will be a new look at the game on Night City Wire on June 25, but until then, we leave you with our impressions of Cyberpunk 2077.
On the other hand, CD Projekt has already denied that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to reach PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch, beyond the backward compatibility options.
