Baby Shark, the children’s song popular all over the world, broke a record on YouTube.
So far, the title of the most-watched YouTube video of all time in the hands of singer Luis Fonsi’s song Despacito is now passed to the children’s song Baby Shark. Recorded by South Korean educational entertainment company Pinkfong, the song was played 7.05 billion times. Popular as a campfire song in the United States since the 1970s, the song became a viral hit with its Pinkfong rendition.
The song was sung by 10-year-old Korean-American singer Hope Segoine, while the original video for Baby Shark was uploaded to the platform on November 26, 2015. The record-breaking video is the second video Pinkfong released on June 18, 2016, titled Baby Shark Dance, featuring two children performing the currently popular dance routine.
We can easily say that the song being played repeatedly to keep the children in place may have been effective in this record.
