Apex Legends is one of the most played titles on the online PC and console scene. As if that were not enough, its launch on Nintendo Switch has given a greater boost to its community of players, although its creators do not want to relax against competitors such as Fortnite, PUBG or Call of Duty Warzone.
Obviously, Respawn Entertainment wants to improve the playable experience of Apex Legends and bet on a greater variety, beyond the Battle Royale mode that has made the title great. They define it as ” new ways of playing “, and its creators say that they will arrive in the rest of the year 2021.
So says Respawn’s design director, Jason McCord, who is betting on a great year for Apex Legends, wanting to go one step beyond Battle Royale to introduce new content, varied game modes and periodic updates on PC and consoles.
” We’re looking at 2021. We’re looking at, yeah sure, Season 11 at the end of the year, but what do we want the game to look like when that time comes? And you also have to see what the intentions of Apex Legends are, ” explains the developer.
Although Respawn wants to introduce important news in Apex Legends, such as season 11, they are also clear that the base of the game is Battle Royale, and that is the reason why many players continue to bet on EA’s hero shooter.
” Currently, Apex is strictly a Battle Royale. But we’ve built these characters and this world that I think gamers really want to be in, even if they don’t love this genre. So on a really high level, I’ll just say that’s something we want to focus on solving this year – other ways to play the game. ”
