Creative Director recounts how it was the integration of characters from games passed to Watch Dogs Legion.
Watch Dogs Legion recently unveiled its long-term content plans, including both free updates and multiplayer modes as well as a new campaign called Bloodlines, exclusive to season pass purchasers. Something that stands out about this campaign is that it integrates characters from past games such as Aiden Pierce (Watch Dogs) and Wrench ( Watch Dogs 2 ), as well as the first character from the Assassin’s Creed universe to crossover with the hacker game from Ubisoft.
Recently Gadgetcrutches had the opportunity to interview Clint Hocking, creative director of Watch Dogs Legion, and we questioned the developer about the process of integrating these characters into the latest instalment of the series. Hocking confessed that it was a difficult challenge because it involved the game’s script being rewritten to make way for these characters.
When you add a playable character that can work in single player you have to rewrite everything.

“It was very difficult because when you add a playable character that can work in single-player mode you have to rewrite the entire script. Everything has to be rewritten, and you have to re-record it, it was a great job,” confessed the creative director.
“We know that Aiden is a complex character with many deep and real problems, we find it interesting to revisit the character about 5-10 years later to see how he has changed and also what has not changed, to see the consequences of what he has done. very excited that they can see that, “stated the director.
