As usual with the launch of the new consoles, fans are crazy to know what will be the best option. So far, both Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X have revealed the great additions that they will be bringing to the market. Now, a new survey has just revealed that the vast majority of players so far prefer the Sony console.
The survey was conducted in the UK by the Experience12 agency (via MCV). As they have revealed, there have been more than 3,000 people surveyed and on which the research is based. The survey was conducted from June 25 to July 2 and was posted on various pop culture websites. As the figures reveal, 80% of the people surveyed were between 18 and 34 years old. On the other hand, 58% were men, 32% women, and 3% made up of non-conforming and transgender people.
Likewise, 50% revealed that they are willing to make the change between generations in the first three months. In terms of console results, PlayStation 5 leads the pack with 84%, while Xbox Series X only has 16%. It only remains to wait for Christmas this year, to know the official sales results that the new consoles will present.
Top 5 most anticipated video games
- Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Projekt)
- Marvel’s Avengers (Square Enix)
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (Activision)
- Dying Light 2 (Techland)
- Halo Infinite (Xbox Game Studios)
In addition to consoles, people were also asked which upcoming game they’re most anticipating. It should come as no surprise to learn that Cyberpunk 2077 topped the list with 43 percent of the vote. Marvel’s Avengers was second with just 15 percent, followed by the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 remaster, Dying Light 2 (whenever that gets here), and Halo Infinite—it should be noted that the survey was taken before Halo’s recent demo, which disappointed a lot of people.
When it comes to current-gen machines, the PlayStation 4 was the most-preferred platform with 59 percent, way ahead of the Xbox One (17 percent), PC (15 percent), and Switch (8 percent).
Other findings include Facebook being the most popular social media platform and place where people find out about games, Twitch the favored livestreaming site, and The Last of Us the most anticipated TV/movie adaptation of a video game.
