Xiaomi was included a few weeks ago in the investment blacklist of the United States for accusations of having connections with the Chinese military.
The company denied these allegations and sued the US government over the “unconstitutional ban.”
Now an American court has ruled in favor of Xiaomi. The Chinese company is no longer prohibited from attracting investors in the United States.
The US court prohibits the Department of Defense from applying or enforcing Xiaomi’s designation as a Chinese Communist Military Company (CCMC). The court also removes the executive order that restricted Xiaomi from obtaining US investments.
In January, Donald Trump issued an order preventing Americans from investing in the Chinese company and forcing them to divest their holdings. Following the court ruling, this order is void.
