In September of last year, Xiaomi announced the Mi MIX Alpha smartphone as a conceptual device, that is, a sample of what Xiaomi is capable of manufacturing without any intention of putting it on sale in bulk.
The last MIX series smartphone to be launched commercially was the Mi MIX 3, which arrived in 2018, but now it seems that the company could be planning something big.
Xiaomi has created a new account on the Chinese social network Weibo under the name “MIX Weibo”. The company already has a Weibo “Xiaomi MIX” account but it hasn’t been updated in a long time.
This suggests that Xiaomi could be preparing to launch the new series of Mi MIX 4 smartphones, which could include Mi MIX 4 and Mi MIX 4 Pro. According to the latest rumors, the device could come with a curved 120Hz 2K display, over 4,500 mAh battery with fast charge, a weight of about 205 grams, and the K30 Pro’s macro lens.
Although the exact release date is not known, some reports suggest that the Mi MIX 4 series will be released after the MIUI 12 release . As the release is scheduled for June this year, we will have to wait at least until that date.
As we mentioned before, the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha is still the last MIX phone announced. It has a flexible 7.92 ″ Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2250 x 2088 pixels that wraps around the body of the phone. The device has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
The phone has a vertical camera strip on its rear panel that includes a 108-megapixel primary camera sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support, and a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. It has a 4,050mAh battery with 40W fast charge support.
The smartphone is priced at 19,999 yuan in China, that is, about 2,590 euros. However, its sale date has been delayed and is not yet available even in China.
